1. Liquidity Pool Overview

Liquidity is the core foundation of Gate Swap that enables assets, applications, and communities to grow sustainably. Each token pair (e.g., GT/USDT) requires sufficient liquidity to enable efficient trades with fair pricing and minimal slippage. Anyone can become a liquidity provider (LP).

LP Tokens

When you provide liquidity to a pair (e.g., GT/GUSD), you will receive LP tokens representing your share of the pool. These tokens entitle you to withdraw your share of funds at any time by removing liquidity.

Earn Trading Fees

When you add liquidity to Gate Swap, you earn a proportional share of the trading fees generated by that pair based on your contribution. All fees are 100% distributed to liquidity providers, with no platform fees charged.

Impermanent Loss

When you add liquidity to a pair (such as GT/USDT), the value of your assets will automatically rebalance as prices fluctuate. If the price changes significantly, the total value of your withdrawn assets may be lower than if you had simply held them — a phenomenon known as impermanent loss.

Add / Remove Liquidity

Liquidity is the foundation that enables efficient decentralized trading on Gate Swap.
You can add funds to any token pair from the liquidity page and receive:

• A share of the trading fees generated by that pair
• An LP credential that represents your share (LP tokens or an NFT)

2. How to Create a Liquidity Pool

Gate Swap now supports user-created liquidity pools, allowing anyone to initiate new trading pairs and bootstrap liquidity.
Steps to create a pool:

1. Access the Liquidity Fund Page
   Go to the Liquidity Fund Page and click “Create Liquidity” to enter the creation interface.
2. Select Token Pair
   Choose the two tokens (A + B) you want to pair and add initial liquidity.
3. Set Initial Price
   If the pair is being created for the first time, you’ll be prompted to set an initial price. You can input manually or select “Use Market Price.”
4. Enter Amounts & Validate Balances
   Enter the amount for Token A; the system will automatically calculate the required amount of Token B based on the current rate. If either token balance is insufficient, the system will show “Insufficient Balance.” Please adjust or top up to proceed.
5. Authorize Tokens
   Once both balances are sufficient, authorize each token one by one. Each authorization requires confirmation in your wallet.
6. Confirm Creation
   After authorization, click “Confirm.” A confirmation window will appear — verify the details and complete the signature in your wallet.
7. View Position
   After the transaction is confirmed, visit “My Positions” to view the pool details, LP token balance, and liquidity status.

2. How to Add / Remove Liquidity

Add Liquidity

You can add liquidity to any trading pair through the following paths:

• [Chart Details Page] → [Liquidity Pool] → [Add Liquidity]
• Or [Swap Page] → [Liquidity Pool] → [Add / Create Liquidity]

After adding, you can view your position and earnings in My Positions.

Remove Liquidity

You can remove liquidity to any trading pair through the following paths:

1. Go to My Positions, select the desired pair, and open its details.
2. Click “Remove Liquidity” — a removal window will appear.
3. Use the quick percentage selector or manually enter the amount you wish to remove (partial or full). The system will automatically calculate the tokens you’ll receive.
4. Click “Confirm” and complete the wallet signature to finalize.
5. Once the on-chain transaction is confirmed, you’ll receive both tokens from the pair.
6. If you remove only part of your liquidity, the remaining value will be updated in real time on the Liquidity page. You can also check your actual fee rewards and token receipts in your wallet history.
