März gab Frankreichs Präsident Macron eine Erklärung ab, wonach die G7 in den kommenden Tagen eine Öl-Freigabe organisieren wird, wobei Frankreich bis zu 14,5 Millionen Barrel Öl freigeben wird. Macron sagte, die Koordination der Schutzmaßnahmen im Hormuzstraße werde mehrere Wochen dauern. Außerdem betonte Macron, dass es keinen Grund gebe, die Sanktionen gegen Russland aufzuheben, und hob hervor, dass es offensichtlich notwendig sei, die militärischen und politischen Ziele des Iran-Kriegs klar zu definieren.
