China's CAC Disposes of 14,000+ AI Products, Cleans 6M Illegal Posts in First Phase Crackdown

According to China's Cyberspace Administration (CAC), the first phase of the "Clean AI Applications" campaign, which began in April 2026, concluded with significant enforcement actions by July 6. Authorities disposed of over 14,000 AI products including websites, applications, and smart agents, removed 6 million pieces of illegal and non-compliant content, shut down 26,000 violating accounts, and delisted 1,300 illegal AI commodities and 9 non-compliant open-source datasets.
