1. Why is account identity verification required?

To protect your assets and ensure compliance within the digital asset industry, Gate requires all users to complete KYC (Know Your Customer) verification. This helps reduce illegal activities such as fraud, money laundering, and extortion. Once your identity is verified, you’ll be able to deposit digital assets, withdraw funds, trade fiat currencies, and participate in projects like Launchpool.

2. Is identity verification required for deposits?

Yes, you must complete identity verification before making deposits or withdrawals. By verifying user identities, the platform can effectively prevent risks like money laundering, fraud, and account theft, and provide faster assistance if any issues arise.

3. What should I do if I can’t upload KYC verification images?

  1. Photos must be in jpg or png format and no larger than 4 MB.
  2. Your name, passport/ID, or driver’s license number cannot contain special characters.
    If you’re sure the photo format is correct, please check if your name contains any special characters. If so, remove them and try again.
  3. Your current network connection may be unstable.

    Alternatively, download the Gate App and go to “Profile” - “Identity Verification” to complete the process.

4. How long does KYC verification take? How can I check my verification status?

KYC review usually takes between 10 minutes and 12 hours.
After submitting your verification, you can return to the KYC page later to check the review result.

5. Why was my KYC verification rejected?

You must use a valid government-issued document for verification, such as a passport, driver’s license, or ID card.

Please note

  1. The submitted document must be within its validity period;
  2. Make sure the document is fully visible in the photo, with all four corners showing clearly. The image should be clear, not blurry, with sufficient lighting and no glare;
  3. Only photos of the physical document are accepted. Copies, scans, screenshots, or images that have been edited or filtered are not supported;
  4. The name you enter must match exactly with the name on your document;
  5. Users under 18 years old are currently not eligible for identity verification.
