The previous position of the wind vane was stopped out at breakeven, and I'm opening a new wind vane short position. There's no requirement to specifically target 2188; if there's a larger fluctuation, such as going up to 2200, that would be an even better entry point for the initial short position, but generally I don't pursue this.
As long as it's higher than my short entry, that works.
I'll stream as usual on Sunday. 2400 is something we've been advocating and staying alert about for the past month and a half. What we're mainly concerned about is the concentration of positive news, which generally means when we reach the level, we can enter a short position with our initial tranche, and add to it within the predicted range. I know some people insist that I should short at the good 2400 level, but this psychology is the same as those who want to wait for the lowest point to bottom-fish on the long side—it's not very meaningful.
Only high leverage cares about entry quality, because any small fluctuation will cause liquidation, so attention is necessary, but long-term positions don't need this.
