Cyberspace Administration of China: This year, 1,418 counterfeit websites have been eliminated, involving inducements to purchase "stablecoins" and other financial products.

PANews January 1 News, according to the Central Cyberspace Administration of China, based on clues provided by netizens, this year, relevant departments coordinated to verify and promptly handle 1,418 illegal and infringing imitation and counterfeit website platforms, a 1.7-fold increase compared to last year. Among them: 323 websites imitating state-owned enterprises such as State Grid and Sinopec, publishing false investment and recharge information, inducing netizens to purchase virtual goods, fake recharge fuel cards, etc., resulting in netizens being deceived; 61 websites imitating financial institutions such as China Merchants Securities and CITIC Bank, inducing netizens to download apps for stock trading or purchase so-called “stablecoins” and other financial products, causing property losses.
