Decentralization ≠ Deregulation
"Decentralization" was once the most captivating slogan of blockchain.
It means the decentralization of power, means transparency, openness, and resistance to censorship, and means that every ordinary person can participate equally in this system.
But today we have to admit:
This word has been abused.
Decentralization is no longer synonymous with fairness,
It increasingly resembles a shield for evading responsibility, a cover of technological indifference, and even a fig leaf for predatory mechanisms.
⸻
1. Why has Decentralization become a tool for "whitewashing"?
In reality, we have seen too many similar scenarios:
• A certain protocol was found to have significant vulnerabilities, but the project team said: "This is community autonomy, the responsibility is not mine."
•Some mechanisms are aware that they cannot sustain themselves, even pre-embedding a "collapse switch", yet claim: "This is the result of DAO governance; we are merely technical facilitators."
•A certain project’s incentive mechanism encourages a pyramid-style recruitment for commissions. Once it collapses, the platform simply pushes away responsibility with a statement like "We only deployed the smart contract." #PI
