There have been a lot of rumors lately—some people say they've seen a Dogecoin option on Tesla's payment page. Whether that's true or not, I figure it wouldn't hurt to allocate a bit of a position.
To be honest, DOGE is a pretty unique project at its core. The community is super active; whenever Musk casually tweets, a swarm of Dogecoin believers immediately show up to like, retweet, and comment. The cohesion is unmatched.
What's more important—the original dev team cashed out and left long ago. Sounds like a bad thing? Actually, it's quite the opposite. Now, the liquidity pool is full of retail investors trading with real money, unlike some coins where whales can dump at any time. Of course, no one can predict black swan events, but at least day-to-day you don't have to worry about the project team suddenly selling off everything.
The only question is how long this group of "believers" in the community can hold out. If they really manage to push Dogecoin into becoming a mainstream payment tool, it would be much more than just a meme coin. Let's wait and see.
