Hollywood director Carl Lench sued for allegedly scamming Netflix $11 million in cryptocurrency investments
On December 12, director Carl Rinsch, who directed the 2013 film “47 Ronin” starring Keanu Reeves, was sentenced for telecom fraud and money laundering. Prosecutors accused Rinsch of embezzling $11 million received from Netflix and using part of the funds to purchase cryptocurrencies. An earlier report stated that Carl Rinsch invested $4 million of that amount in Dogecoin, which eventually grew to $27 million in profit, but he subsequently squandered most of the profits on luxury goods. Rinsch faces a maximum sentence of 90 years and will be formally sentenced on April 17, 2026.
