You must remember that the past does not exist at all. It only exists in your mind, in your memory. It is no more real than a daydream. You should also remember that your memories are likely not as accurate as you think. They are influenced by your emotions and feelings, as well as by the memories themselves. Your brain exaggerates some things and completely forgets others. People who have experienced the exact same things may have completely different memories of them. Memory is not accurate, nor is it reliable. We gain self-awareness from memory. We determine who we are based on our memories. We write our life stories and tell ourselves this story to form self-awareness. Because the past no longer exists, what happened in your memory may not have happened as you remember it at all, so you can rewrite it. Rewrite the story you tell yourself about yourself. Rewrite your personal story, rewrite your past, and you rewrite yourself.
