Thank you, crypto. Thank you, BNB. It was they who gave me the opportunity to wear a Patek Philippe on my wrist—a watch I once couldn't even dare to imagine owning. Cryptocurrency can truly change lives.
In 2022, I already loved the Rolex Daytona. That watch had been in my collection wishlist for three years. It wasn't that I couldn't afford it; I made profits shortly after entering the crypto space. But I never took action. Because I knew very well that being able to buy it and being willing to buy it are two different things, especially at that stage. I preferred to keep my money in places where it could continue to grow and create opportunities. Collecting is essentially investing. My mindset back then was that besides crypto, I shouldn't allocate funds elsewhere.
It wasn't until mid this year that I finally bought that Daytona. When I picked up the watch, Link kept recommending Patek Philippe, saying, "You can buy one now." But at that moment, my first reaction was resistance. A watch costing over one million RMB was, in my previous understanding, a very luxurious thing. Later, the market performed well in the second half of the year, and my account balance was changing. I kept asking myself whether it was worth it at this moment.
In the end, my decision wasn't driven by showing off or impulse. It was based on a very clear feeling. I realized I was no longer the person who had to calculate every penny to the extreme. Some things started to become commemorations of stages rather than burdens. So, riding this wave of the market, I bought it.
Many times, I think back to earlier scenes. When I was in middle school, I walked past my teacher's Audi A8. She told me not to walk too close, saying she couldn't afford to pay for damages if I bumped into it. That remark wasn't malicious at the time, but it left a deep impression on me. I silently vowed in my heart that one day I would be able to stand next to anything I wanted to get close to, without having to step back.
Today, when I look at my watch again, I suddenly realize that what truly changed me was never a watch, but crypto—what it gave me, not just the results, but also a path that led me here step by step. The scenery is beautiful.
