U.S. DOJ ACCUSED OF IMPROPERLY SELLING SEIZED BITCOIN FROM SAMOURAI WALLET DEVELOPERS
According to Bitcoin Magazine, on November 3, 2025, the U.S. Department of Justice instructed the U.S. Marshals Service to sell 57.55 $BTC —worth approximately $6.37 million—through Coinbase Prime. The Bitcoin was paid as part of a plea agreement by Samourai Wallet developers and the sale may have violated Executive Order 14233 signed by President #Trump . The executive order requires that #Bitcoin obtained through criminal forfeiture be added to the “National Strategic Bitcoin Reserve” and not sold. The relevant Bitcoin address now shows a zero balance, indicating the assets may have already been liquidated. #CryptoMarkets
