Most crypto incentive models today chase one thing: attention. Likes pile up, views soar, but it's all noise drowning out what actually matters.

A different approach is emerging. Instead of rewarding hype cycles, some protocols are shifting focus to real outcomes. User onboarding that sticks. Actual trading activity. Protocol deployment that strengthens the ecosystem. Measurable forward momentum.

This marks a subtle but important shift in how Web3 projects think about motivation. The incentive layer is moving beyond engagement metrics toward operational impact—rewarding participants for building something sustainable rather than generating buzz.

It's a reminder that Web3 still has room to mature. The best incentive structures won't be flashy; they'll be the ones that drive genuine adoption and protocol stability.

Well said, finally someone has pointed out this issue... How long can it be sustained just through hype?

Honestly, protocols that still rely on likes for survival should have been eliminated long ago.

Someone finally said it. The current incentive model in the crypto space is basically a trick to attract traffic. I keep seeing certain project airdrop campaigns flooding the screens, and then what? Users come and go, and TVL remains lonely. A truly intelligent protocol should build something long-term, instead of constantly doing those flashy things.

That's right, protocols still playing the number game really need to wake up now. It should have been like this a long time ago; real value lies in accumulation, not hype. Finally, someone has pierced through this layer of illusion—building > traffic. However... how many projects are truly willing to do this? This is the path Web3 should take; everything else is just hype.

Someone finally said it. The current incentive mechanism in the crypto circle is just a scheme to purely harvest retail investors, with likes being treated as a meal.

To be honest, I'm tired of this logic. They talk about real value and sustainable development every day, but in the end? The project teams are still playing with numbers. NGL, most protocols ultimately rely on daily active users and trading volume to boast, and only a few actually deliver. This article is well-written, but it feels like it's describing a future that will never come.

Well said, finally someone has pierced through this facade. What's the use of just riding the hype?
