I came across Somnia's recently launched low-profile mobile SDK and developer support program, which happen to address the pain points of on-chain gaming. Most L1s are chasing desktop ecosystem, but very few native mobile games are actually able to run smoothly. What's the difficulty? Mobile adaptation and performance optimization are inherently challenging, and combined with the complexity of on-chain interactions, creating something users are willing to play is extremely rare. But from another perspective, this is precisely the opportunity—who can make mobile gaming and social application experiences seamless and truly run on the chain will seize that overlooked market. Somnia's recent moves seem to be seriously filling this gap and paving the way for developers. Whether it can shake up the market ultimately depends on whether blockbuster applications can land in the future.
