Our scientists have for the first time discovered an important natural source of hydrogen gas on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

According to the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Liu Chuanzhou and Wu Fuyuan’s research team have, for the first time, discovered natural hydrogen trapped inside micro-inclusions in ophiolites on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. This discovery not only fills a research gap in this field domestically but also points to a new geological direction for China in searching for the next generation of clean energy.
