The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on the 24th that they fired warning shots at Lebanon in southern Lebanon. IDF spokesperson Ella Vaveya stated on the 24th that earlier that day, the IDF discovered Lebanese soldiers setting up an “unauthorized” military outpost near the IDF operational area in southern Lebanon. The IDF then issued a warning through “contact channels,” demanding that the Lebanese forces “cease activities.” When there was no response, the IDF fired warning shots. In November 2024, Israel and Lebanon reached a ceasefire agreement, but Israel refused to fully withdraw from southern Lebanon. Additionally, citing Hezbollah’s attempts to rebuild military capabilities and violations of the ceasefire, Israel frequently conducted airstrikes against Lebanon. (Xinhua)
