A Linden, New Jersey recycling center, Safety-Kleen Systems, a subsidiary of Clean Harbors, has been fined $175,000 by the EPA following an inspection in May 2024. Inspectors found numerous violations, including improper maintenance, leaking equipment, faulty storage, and hazardous waste in incompatible containers, posing threats to human health and the environment. The company has since worked with the EPA to address concerns and implement corrective measures.
