On March 9th, the three major A-share indices experienced wide fluctuations today. The Shanghai Composite Index temporarily fell nearly 2% during the trading session, while the Shenzhen Component Index and the ChiNext Index dropped over 3%. By the close, the Shanghai Composite declined 0.67%, closing at 4,096.60 points; the Shenzhen Component fell 0.74%, closing at 14,067.50 points; and the ChiNext Index decreased 0.64%, closing at 3,208.58 points. The combined trading volume of the Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing markets reached 2.67 trillion yuan, an increase of 451.5 billion yuan compared to the previous trading day.

The stock contributing the most points to the Shanghai Composite Index was China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), contributing 7.64 points. The stock rose 7.09% today, closing at 43.36 yuan. The biggest drag on the index was Industrial Fulian, which detracted 1.55 points. The stock fell 2.83% today, closing at 52.79 yuan.

The stock contributing the most points to the Shenzhen Component Index was BYD, contributing 17.68 points. The stock rose 4.17% today, closing at 97.52 yuan. The biggest drag was Zhongji Xuchuang, which detracted 9.97 points. The stock fell 3.57% today, closing at 525.99 yuan.
