Abstract generation in progress

On February 25th, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a routine press conference. A reporter asked whether China has any comments on the UK and France preparing to transfer nuclear weapons, believing that such transactions could create more favorable conditions for ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Mao Ning stated that China has always maintained that “nuclear weapons should not be used, and nuclear war should not be fought.” The international non-proliferation obligations should be earnestly observed. Currently, dialogue regarding the Ukraine crisis has been initiated. We hope all parties seize the opportunity to reach a comprehensive, lasting, and binding peace agreement. We call on relevant parties to remain calm and restrained, and to avoid actions that could lead to misunderstandings, misjudgments, or even escalation of the situation. (The Paper)
