G7: Will take measures such as releasing reserves when necessary to support global energy supply

The G7 finance ministers issued a statement on March 9th saying that all parties are ready to take necessary measures, including releasing reserves, to support global energy supply.

On that day, the G7 finance ministers held a video conference and discussed the current Middle East conflict with leaders from the International Monetary Fund, World Bank Group, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and International Energy Agency.

The statement said that all parties will continue to closely monitor the development of the situation and energy market dynamics, and will hold another meeting if necessary to exchange information and strengthen coordination among G7 countries and international partners.
