On March 6th, the 14th National People’s Congress held an open group activity for the Guangdong delegation. During the media interaction, NPC Deputy and XPeng Motors Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng stated that Guangdong’s talent attraction policies have provided great support for enterprise development.

He Xiaopeng said that last year, in response to Guangdong’s “Million Talents Gathering in Southern Guangdong” initiative, his company recruited 40 PhDs with “Three Clean” backgrounds—graduates who studied at Tsinghua University for their bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. “For a company to develop, the most important thing is where the talent is. Recruiting excellent talent and creating an environment where these talents want to stay is a very advantageous factor for a company’s growth and strength through cycles,” he said.

Regarding Guangdong, where XPeng Motors is based, He Xiaopeng believes it offers a great environment for entrepreneurship and living. Guangzhou has warm weather year-round, excellent cuisine, and Cantonese food that everyone loves. The cost of living is low, making it one of the best cities in terms of living conditions among Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.

“To explore opportunities in the east, west, south, and north, you should come to Guangdong for investment and entrepreneurship. I also welcome more entrepreneurs and graduates to invest and start businesses in Guangdong, to pursue their dreams with us, stay grounded, and build a new high ground in their lives,” He Xiaopeng said.

He Xiaopeng mentioned that the “Million Talents Gathering in Southern Guangdong” is a talent attraction initiative launched by Guangdong Province. It is reported that in 2026, the “Million Talents Gathering in Southern Guangdong” plan will hold a large spring recruitment fair in Guangzhou in March, and a large autumn recruitment fair in Shenzhen in the second half of the year, expected to attract over 1 million college graduates to work and start businesses in Guangdong. The Guangzhou event will be held on March 15-16, with over 1,800 companies and organizations offering more than 70,000 quality positions.
