DTE Energy has filed for another rate increase, just days after regulators approved a $242 million hike that will increase residential customers’ bills by $4.23 monthly. The utility, which reported $1.5 billion in profits for 2025, faces strong opposition from Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and conservation groups like the Michigan League of Conservation Voters, who are calling for reforms to curb continuous rate increases and protect ratepayers.
