White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that U.S. military actions in Iran “will lead to lower natural gas prices in the long run.” “For the American people, the recent rise in oil and natural gas prices is temporary. In the long term, this action will result in lower natural gas prices,” Jean-Pierre said. She added that Trump and his energy team are “closely monitoring the markets, talking with industry leaders, and the U.S. military is continuing to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and developing more plans under the President’s direction.” When asked about the timeline for actions against Iran, Jean-Pierre stated that military operations in Iran would end “when Trump determines that the objectives have been achieved and Iran has unconditionally surrendered.” “Ultimately, when the Commander-in-Chief (Trump) determines that the military objectives have been fully achieved and Iran is in a state of unconditional surrender, whether they admit it or not, the military actions will end,” Jean-Pierre said.
