This could crash the global market.

Right now, Iran is beginning to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz to block the transportation route of 20% of the world's oil supply, according to CNN.
This could push oil prices above $150, causing a collapse in markets worldwide.
Let me explain why.
The strait is 21 miles wide at its narrowest point, but only 2 miles are used for maritime traffic.
Iran estimates there are over 5,000 mines ready, and if they drop a few hundred into those 2 miles,
Here's what happens next:
→ Ship insurance rates for oil tankers spike immediately
→ Oil companies reroute or cease transportation
→ 20% of the world's oil supply is blocked
→ Prices skyrocket just due to risk; the market doesn't wait for an explosion
Iran doesn't need to completely close the strait.
They just need to make its use too costly and too dangerous. Fear and panic will cause the collapse.
