Basketball.fun offers a refund feature for users, and NBA star Tristan Thompson steps down from his advisory role.
Deep Tide TechFlow News, March 11 — According to Decrypt, NBA-themed crypto project Basketball.fun is processing refund requests for users unwilling to wait for the market trading feature to go live. The project was developed by Improbable, the team behind the Layer 1 network Somnia. It allows users to purchase digital card packs of NBA players and hold “shares” of players, but trading functionality has not yet been enabled.
NBA player Tristan Thompson has stepped down from his advisory role in the project. Co-founder and CEO Hadi Teherany stated that they have received 24 refund requests totaling less than $2,000. The project plans to launch the trading feature during the NBA playoffs in April and will offer a 10% purchase bonus for users willing to wait.
Basketball.fun plans to launch digital card pack sales later this month on the Base network and will officially enable trading on Somnia. The project team denied allegations of “exit scam,” emphasizing that this is only the pre-sale phase, and once the product is launched, users will be able to sell their held card packs.
