State Administration for Market Regulation: Promote strengthened online food safety regulation by 2025, with penalties and confiscations totaling 17.7099 million yuan
According to reports today, in 2025, the State Administration for Market Regulation will actively promote strengthening the supervision of online catering food safety, focusing on solving the difficulties in food safety management for platform-based takeout. They will deploy local market regulation departments to carry out a nine-month special inspection, inspecting 1.4136 million takeout merchants on-site, requiring 77,600 to make corrections, shutting down 723, and filing 16,566 cases with fines totaling 17.7099 million yuan. They will also urge online takeout platforms to conduct 1.3838 million online self-inspections and remove 158,400 takeout merchants. Additionally, the initiative to expand the “Internet + Bright Kitchen” from pilot projects to large-scale, standardized implementation will continue. Local market regulation departments are guided to gradually promote takeout merchants through live video broadcasts and other methods to showcase key food processing steps in real-time. Currently, over 450,000 takeout merchants nationwide have completed the “Internet + Bright Kitchen” setup, and a coordinated “online + offline” supervision model is gradually taking shape. (CCTV News)
