2026 "Global Top 500 Bank Brand Values" list: 20 city commercial banks and 6 rural commercial banks included
Recently, the brand valuation firm BrandFinance released the 2026 “Global Top 500 Banking Brands” list, including 43 Chinese-funded banks: 6 state-owned banks, 11 nationwide joint-stock banks, 20 city commercial banks, and 6 rural commercial banks.

In this list, the four major state-owned banks occupy the top four positions, with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and China Construction Bank ranking first and second for two consecutive years. Bank of China moved up from fourth to third place, Agricultural Bank of China is fourth, Postal Savings Bank of China is 21st, and Bank of Communications is 25th.
At the joint-stock bank level, overall rankings have declined, with nine banks including China Merchants Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, and Industrial Bank experiencing varying degrees of drop. CITIC Bank slightly rose from 19th to 18th; Bohai Bank moved up from 303rd to 287th.
There are 20 city commercial banks on the list, including Jiangsu Bank, Bank of Beijing, Bank of Ningbo, Bank of Nanjing, Bank of Shanghai, Huishang Bank, Chengdu Bank, Changsha Bank, Bank of Hangzhou, Bank of Chongqing, Tianjin Bank, Bank of Suzhou, Guizhou Bank, Guiyang Bank, Dongguan Bank, Hankou Bank, Qingdao Bank, Zhengzhou Bank, and Xi’an Bank. Among them, Xi’an Bank is listed for the first time.
Six rural commercial banks are also on the list: Chongqing Rural Commercial Bank, Beijing Rural Commercial Bank, Shanghai Rural Commercial Bank, Guangzhou Rural Commercial Bank, Changshu Rural Commercial Bank, and Qingdao Rural Commercial Bank.
