Abstract generation in progress

The J.M. Smucker Company has appointed two new independent directors to its board after engaging in “constructive engagement” with Elliott Investment Management. This move, coupled with better-than-expected quarterly earnings, led to a nearly 7% jump in the food giant’s stock. The newly appointed board members are Woo-Sung Chung and David Singer, and Smucker’s has also established an information-sharing partnership with Elliott to create sustainable value for shareholders.
