Zendesk announced on Wednesday that it will acquire AI customer service automation startup Forethought, with the deal expected to close by the end of March. Forethought, the winner of the 2018 TechCrunch Battlefield competition, has raised $115 million and supports over 1 billion customer interactions per month for clients such as Upwork and Grammarly. Zendesk plans to integrate Forethought's technology to accelerate its AI product roadmap, completing it more than a year ahead of schedule, and to add features such as professional customer support and voice automation. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
