AIIB successfully issues 3 billion yuan Panda Bonds, with investor subscription demand reaching a record high

According to the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) on March 10, AIIB successfully issued 3 billion RMB in a three-year Panda bond. Based on the final pricing, the bond’s coupon rate is 1.70%. A total of 34 investors participated in the subscription, with total orders reaching 9 billion RMB, both the highest in history. Due to strong investor demand, the issuance scale was increased from the originally planned 2 billion RMB to 3 billion RMB.

In terms of investor composition, domestic and foreign institutional participation was active. Foreign investors accounted for 58% of allocations, while domestic investors made up 42%. By institutional type, bank treasuries accounted for 80%, the central bank and official institutions for 18%, and securities firms and insurance companies together for 2%.
