Google has completed its acquisition of cybersecurity startup Wiz for $32 billion, setting a record for the largest venture capital-backed deal in history. Shardul Shah, a partner at Index Ventures, pointed out that Wiz's positioning at the intersection of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and security spending was the key factor driving this transaction. Previously, Google had made an acquisition offer in 2024, which was rejected. Subsequently, Google underwent antitrust review and added an additional $9 billion to finalize the agreement.
