US natural gas prices have seen relatively modest impact from the Iran conflict on global LNG supply, with Henry Hub natural gas futures rising just 10% to $3.25/MMBtu. In contrast, European Dutch TTF benchmark natural gas prices have surged 57% to €50.5/MWh due to heavy reliance on liquefied natural gas exports from Qatar and the UAE—exports that must pass through the currently closed Strait of Hormuz. Analysts point out that US pipeline transmission capacity has reached its limits, constraining its ability to increase exports to Europe.
