Corporate finance departments are increasingly holding Ethereum as a long-term asset on their balance sheets. In a recent over-the-counter transaction, the Ethereum Foundation transferred 5,000 ETH to the publicly listed company BitMine. This institutional accumulation, along with seasoned cryptocurrency investors readjusting their holdings, is changing the demand structure for Ethereum, making it no longer solely dependent on retail investors and DeFi activities. This concentrated holding by corporate finance departments could reduce circulating supply and heighten price sensitivity to large-scale institutional operations, similar to the early widespread adoption phase of Bitcoin.
