Reports indicate that Nvidia has reduced the Rubin GPU tape-out due to the impact of HBM4 supply issues.

The supply chain revealed that due to HBM4 supply not meeting expectations, NVIDIA has revised the production schedule for the new generation Rubin GPU platform. Some wafer foundries disclosed that NVIDIA initially planned for Rubin GPUs to gradually replace the Blackwell platform starting in 2026, occupying a significant portion of advanced packaging capacity. However, due to technical adjustments and capacity limitations in the HBM4 supply chain, mass production of Rubin may be delayed, resulting in its share of NVIDIA’s overall CoWoS packaging capacity being lower than previously estimated.
