Dollar Tree Customer Drops Suit Over ‘Deceptive’ Cookie Banner

A Dollar Tree Stores Inc. customer has voluntarily dismissed a proposed class action lawsuit against the retailer. The lawsuit alleged that Dollar Tree continued to collect website visitors’ data even after they rejected tracking tools via a cookie consent banner. The dismissal comes four months after a magistrate judge denied Dollar Tree’s motion to dismiss claims of invasion of privacy and violations of California law.
