UBS: South Korea Could Become a Bright Spot for Luxury Goods Groups

UBS analysts wrote in a client report that, in the short term, Korea’s demand for luxury goods could be a positive factor for the luxury industry. “Korean consumers remain commercially and strategically important for the luxury sector,” the analysts said. UBS added that these customers account for an average of mid to high single-digit percentages of the group’s sales. “They also serve as a useful leading indicator of broader regional trends.” UBS stated that Hermès, Moncler, Prada, and Burberry are the most likely beneficiaries.
