Efficiency of Cross-Border Traffic Significantly Improved Since the Launch of the "Integrated One-Stop" Lane at Hengqin Port
Zhuhai Border Inspection General Station Hengqin Border Inspection Station announced on the 17th that the “Joint One-Stop” vehicle lane at Hengqin Port will celebrate its two-year anniversary of full operation on the 18th. According to statistics, as of the 17th, the station has relied on the innovative model of “cooperative inspection and single clearance,” which is a nationwide first, continuously optimizing customs clearance services and improving inspection efficiency. A total of 6.37 million inbound and outbound vehicles have been inspected, a 89% increase year-on-year. Among them, Macau license plate vehicles exceeded 4.2 million, accounting for 65.9% of the total traffic flow, making them the main force of cross-border vehicle flow between Qin and Ao.
As the core customs clearance hub connecting Qin and Ao, the “Joint One-Stop” lane integrates resources from five inspection units in Guangdong and Macau, simplifying the original “two places, two inspections” procedures into a model of “single queue, centralized collection, coordinated clearance,” allowing one lane to inspect and clear two vehicles simultaneously. The clearance time per vehicle has been reduced from the original 8 minutes to under 100 seconds, with the fastest only taking 50 seconds to complete inspection procedures in both places, making cross-border travel more efficient and convenient.
The average daily vehicle flow at Hengqin Port has increased from 5,500 vehicles at the initial stage of operation to 12,000 this year, injecting strong momentum into the deep integration and development of Qin and Ao. During this period, the daily vehicle flow has reached a new high of 20 times, with the highest recorded on February 11, 2026, reaching 13,400 vehicles, fully releasing the cross-border traffic demand between Qin and Ao.
In addition, since the launch of the vehicle personnel inspection hall at Hengqin Port on April 9, 2024, more than 3.92 million inbound and outbound personnel have been inspected, forming an efficient complement to vehicle inspection efficiency and ensuring smooth flow of personnel elements between Qin and Ao in all aspects.
“In recent years, Hengqin Border Inspection Station has continuously deepened the construction of smart ports, promoting the full operation of 64 cooperative intelligent and fast channels, achieving ‘face recognition’ contactless clearance, turning the ‘half-hour living circle’ between Qin and Ao from a vision into reality,” said Huang Yiting, deputy team leader of the first duty team at Hengqin Border Inspection Station. The next step will be to further deepen collaboration with relevant units in Guangdong and Macau, accelerate the full deployment of vehicle intelligent inspection channels, continuously optimize inspection procedures, and improve service quality, providing solid border inspection support for promoting the efficient flow of elements between Qin and Ao and building a new high-level platform for opening up to the outside world.
