Abstract generation in progress

A new federal class action lawsuit has been filed against Costco Wholesale Corp. in Puerto Rico, alleging the retailer is improperly retaining over $20 million in tariff refunds that customers paid through elevated prices. The lawsuit claims Costco raised prices on imported goods in 2025 to cover tariffs later struck down, and is now seeking to keep the refunds and interest rather than reimbursing members. Plaintiff Guillermo J. Ortiz is seeking restitution and class certification for all affected Costco members in Puerto Rico.
