Iran Closes the Strait of Hormuz Again Following Israel Attacking Lebanon
The headquarters of Khatam al-Anbia as Iran's highest military command officially announced the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz to all maritime traffic. According to reports from the Tasnim news agency, this maritime blockade policy is effective immediately upon the release of this announcement.
Iranian military officials stated that this decision was made in response to violations of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) carried out by the United States. Additionally, Iran also highlighted the ongoing Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon, including continued attacks after the ceasefire agreement was supposed to be in effect.
In its official statement, Iran's joint command described this trade route closure as a "initial step." Khatam al-Anbia emphasized that further actions will be taken if violations by the United States and Israel are not immediately halted.
