If tonight's nonfarm payrolls also come in below expectations, the probability of a September rate hike will likely continue to cool down. Gold, U.S. stocks, and the crypto market all have a chance for a sentiment repair. But if the data again exceeds expectations, the market will once again trade on high rates persisting for longer. So tonight's nonfarm payrolls data will determine whether the U.S. economy is about to hit the brakes. Once employment cools, the Fed's subsequent policy expectations will also change accordingly.
