Interesting shift in ETF flows yesterday
Out of all the US spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF issuers, BlackRock was the only one that saw net outflows
Around $18.6M left its crypto funds, almost evenly split between IBIT and ETHA
Not a massive number in isolation, but notable considering it stood alone on outflow side
At the same time, Bitcoin ETFs overall finally saw a small bounce with about $15.2M in net inflows, breaking the recent selling streak
On paper, that sounds like momentum might be stabilizing
But zoom out a bit
This week alone, roughly $360M has flowed out of Bitcoin ETFs

That’s lowest inflation print we’ve seen in a long time and yet the Federal Reserve is still acting like inflation is about to re-accelerate
I don’t get it
Inflation is clearly trending down
But look at what’s happening on the other side of economy
- Labor market is slowing
- Credit card delinquencies are rising
- Corporate bankruptcies are climbing back to 2008-type levels
- Consumers are exhausted
This is exactly how policy mistakes happen
In 2020–21 they stayed too dovish for too long and inflation exploded now it feels like
