CEX Institutional Outlook Report: Next year will see the emergence of "DAT2.0", with privacy, AI, and RWA being key areas of focus

On December 20, CEX Institutional released the “2026 Crypto Market Outlook” report, analyzing the macro environment, regulatory developments, technological evolution, and application trends of the crypto market in 2026. The report suggests that the US economy remains resilient, but uncertainties are still high, and the crypto market environment in the first half of 2026 is more similar to 1996 than 1999. Regarding institutional participation, CEX proposes the “DAT 2.0” model, believing that institutions will shift from simple asset allocation to more professional trading, custody, and blockchain space acquisition. On the technological and application level, as institutional adoption increases, the demand for privacy technologies such as zero-knowledge proofs and fully homomorphic encryption rises. Automated agents combining AI and encryption, application-specific blockchains and cross-chain interoperability, and tokenized assets (including tokenized stocks) are viewed as important directions.
