The survey primarily targeted cryptocurrency industry practitioners and investors with varying levels of experience. About 75% of respondents were from the crypto industry, while 25% were not. In terms of investment experience, 48.7% were newcomers with less than a year of experience, while 25.6% and 25.7% had 1-3 years and over 3 years of experience, respectively. The respondents generally maintained a cautious attitude towards crypto investments, with nearly half investing less than 10% of their monthly income in cryptocurrencies.
The top three most frequently used centralized exchanges among respondents were major global platforms. The leading exchange was chosen by 85.6% of respondents, followed by the second at 43.4% and the third at 25.9%.
The most popular exchange was also the preferred choice for storing the largest crypto asset positions, with over 60% of respondents choosing it. The second-ranked exchange followed at 18.5%, while other exchanges had much smaller shares.
59.2% of respondents preferred exchanges that actively list high-quality new tokens. 15.2% favored a more selective approach, while 12.4% liked exchanges that list popular community tokens.
The leading exchange topped satisfaction with listing strategies at 36.4%, followed by another major platform at 26.2% and a third at 14.4%. However, over 5% of users expressed dissatisfaction with all exchanges' listing strategies.
Two major exchanges dominated the Web3 wallet services market with 56.5% and 33.1% usage respectively, while other exchanges each had less than 3% usage.
Brand reputation (69.5%), security (48.8%), and liquidity (37.8%) were the top factors considered by users when choosing a centralized exchange.
The most significant issues faced by users were deposit/withdrawal problems (59.3%), followed by customer service responsiveness (21.8%) and withdrawal delays (20.8%).
80.5% of users reported an increase in centralized exchange usage frequency in recent years, with only 7.1% reporting a decrease.
77.4% of users increased their crypto asset allocation on centralized exchanges, with 58.7% reporting a significant increase.

The 2025 Centralized Exchange Chinese User Research Report reveals a growing trend in cryptocurrency investment and trading among Chinese users. Despite challenges faced by centralized exchanges, user engagement and asset allocation continue to increase. However, issues such as deposit/withdrawal problems and the need for transparent listing processes remain significant concerns. As the crypto market evolves, centralized exchanges will need to address these challenges to maintain user trust and compete with emerging decentralized alternatives.
