Charles Schwab will pilot direct trading services for Bitcoin and Ethereum in the second quarter

Gate News message, April 5, Charles Schwab announced that its banking subsidiary, Charles Schwab Premier Bank, will offer direct trading services for Bitcoin and Ethereum through Schwab Crypto accounts. CEO Rick Wurster said the service is planned to begin limited testing in the second quarter of 2026 and will be officially launched in the first half of the year. A waitlist is now open; the initial service coverage includes most of the United States, but excludes New York State and Louisiana. Users must hold a Charles Schwab brokerage account in order to apply to join the waitlist. In the initial stage, the service does not support deposits or withdrawals of external cryptocurrencies. As of February this year, Charles Schwab managed assets totaling $1.2222 trillion and had 38.9 million active brokerage accounts.
