Chair Powell noted that inflation expectations for this year are higher than in September 2024, mainly due to tariff pressures. He mentioned that while the labor market may be cooling slowly, strong participation and wage growth mean there’s little cause for concern. Powell said he would wait for more data before deciding on the next move.
