Is trading virtual coins legal or not? What should you do if your card is frozen when selling USDT and you are called in for an investigation? Don't panic. Remember the responses to the following three questions, which can help you get through it better:

The first question: "Don't you know that virtual coin trading is illegal?"
Don't just acknowledge it right away. You could say: "I have checked the relevant regulations before, and there is no explicit prohibition on the buying and selling of virtual coins between individuals. I understand that such transactions are not legally protected, but 'not protected' does not equal 'illegal'; I am just managing my virtual assets within the legal scope." — Please make sure to hold on to this point.

The second question: "The amount you received is related to the case, and you must return it in full to unfreeze it!"
Don't be scared off by "full refund." You can try to negotiate: "I am willing to actively cooperate in handling this, but if I have no knowledge of the nature of the funds, is it possible to negotiate a more reasonable refund ratio? Or can we communicate with the victims to jointly find a solution that is acceptable to both parties?" - This way, you express your willingness to cooperate while leaving some room for yourself.

The third question: "If not resolved, all cards may be frozen, and a criminal record will be left!"
Don't be flustered by the term "criminal record". You can respond calmly: "I understand this is necessary for the investigation, and I have prepared all transaction records for verification. This is currently just an investigation stage, and there hasn't been a final determination, so it shouldn't directly result in a criminal record. As long as my card is not a primary account receiving illicit funds, other cards should not be implicated." — Let the other party know that you are not completely ignorant, and communication will be more rational.

There is a catchy rhyme that fits this situation quite well:
"Usually sell U for stability, but who knew the dirty money mixed in."
The frozen card transfer slips keep coming in, and only now do I understand the need for prevention.

⚠️ How to avoid the risk of frozen cards as much as possible?

· If the amount is not large (within one or two million), try to find a reputable and stable compliant OTC merchant to transact with;
· If the amount is relatively large, it is recommended to use channels with clear compliance paths, such as Hong Kong.
