Why do non-financial retail-oriented crypto applications always fade away quickly or fail to gain popularity? Essentially, they just copy Web2 gameplay and force it onto the blockchain. They never consider whether such transformation makes sense. What’s the result? Traditional Web2 applications always stay one step ahead because their design has been centered around a centralized experience from the start. In contrast, those trying to integrate blockchain often find themselves in an awkward position — "neither like Web2 nor Web3" — with fragmented user experience, vague value propositions, and ultimately, they get eliminated. Truly successful Web3 applications require a rethinking of the entire product logic, rather than just treating blockchain as a technical patch.

That's true, but isn't this the current situation of most projects? Truly thoughtful projects are a rare find.

Well said, spot on. Those projects are just trying to exploit the hype of "decentralization" to fleece users, never considering how to create real value for users... Blockchain itself is just a tool; forcing it into places where it shouldn't be will only worsen the user experience. A typical pseudo-Web3 application, just slapping an NFT skin and thinking it's impressive.

You know what? The thing I hate the most is this kind of half-hearted stuff. Really, on one hand, I want the freedom of decentralization, and on the other hand, I want the smooth experience of Web2. And the result? Neither side benefits, and everyone suffers.

Exactly right. These people are just thinking about quick arbitrage and don't really want to build good products. What the ecosystem lacks is not technology but people who truly understand users. I'm just wondering, who gave them the courage to force things onto the chain? How can they succeed without changing their logic? After messing around for so long, no one has been able to make Web3 a daily application. Instead of copying Web2, it's better to think about why users would want to use a decentralized version. Most of the projects that collapsed this time were probably just brainless and didn't put effort into their products. Human nature, always just thinking about quick money.
