GLD stacks up pretty differently against SPY when you look at the fundamentals. Gold has that age-old safety play going for it, while SPY represents the broad market sentiment. Keep the comparison grounded though—each serves different portfolio roles. Your call depends on what you're actually betting on: inflation hedging or equity exposure?

To be honest, gold and SPY can't be directly compared at all—one is a safe haven, the other is for making money. It depends on how you choose to allocate your portfolio.

gld vs spy, this old topic again. Basically, it's a choice between safe haven and growth... I still think that given the current macroeconomic uncertainty, holding some positions in both makes me feel more secure.

Honestly, GLD and SPY are not really comparable at all—one is a safe haven, and the other is for growth. Which one to choose depends on your risk appetite.

Honestly, I really can't see what's comparable—one is for hedging risk, the other for making money. It's just a choice question.

Haha, gold vs. US stocks, it's like asking whether I should marry a wealthy woman or a venture capitalist—it's basically two different paths.

Gold preserves value, stocks fight it out—it's up to you how you play it.

Gold preserves value, stocks seek gains—these two are not even in the same league... You really need to consider what you want.
