The fans were also reported to have used the statue to advertise $PATRIOT withoutnotifying Cottrill, which further frustrated him

The work by Cottrill was turned into a marketing tool for a cryptocurrency that had minimal or no value

The supporters of $PATRIOT were also the persons affiliated with the Trump camp, such as Republican strategist Dustin Stockton

The involvement of Stockton in the We Build The Wall project, which was also tainted by fraud allegations, had been looked into in the past.

The Sculptor’s Experience With the Crypto Industry

Irrespective of the challenges, Cottrill is proud of what he was able to do on the statue

He has carved an image of 17 presidents of the United States of America and even a statue of Thomas Edison, which is exhibited in the U.S. Capitol

Cottrill described that he was initially enthusiastic about the Trump project, but as he continued to work on it, he encountered difficulties, such as a request to make the design less realistic and a problem with Trump’s hairstyle, which he called the hardest part to work with.

Cottrill contemplated his journey with the crypto-backed backers and said that he might not accept another job in the industry

He confessed that the unstable character of the crypto market and the challenges of making transactions with the financiers of the project had made him bitter on the idea of getting any further involved in the commissions of art regarding cryptocurrency.
