The U.S. Department of the Treasury has authorized indefinite operations with the German divisions of "Rosneft" that are under sanctions, Rosneft Deutschland GmbH and RN Refining & Marketing GmbH. This is outlined in the general license issued by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control.

The authorization also extends to companies in which these entities directly or indirectly hold a 50% stake. The license does not specify an expiration date. Bloomberg reported on the eve that the U.S. would permit indefinite operations. This decision by Washington will reduce the risk that sanctions disrupt the operation of German refineries amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, which is putting pressure on global energy markets, the article states.
